Check This Out: The Trailer for AMI
With technology becoming such an ingrained part of our lives, the techno-thriller looks like it’ll be coming back in style. Here’s an interesting one, though. It’s called AMI and it sounds like a Siri from hell. Here’s the premise:
Young Cassie comes across a discarded cell phone with the latest artifical intelligence on it called AMI. Cassie customizes the AI to sound like her deceased mother which soon fulfills the void in Cassie's life. As their relationship deepens, the nurturing and seemingly caring AI drives Cassie to perform heinous acts of murder that AMI convinces her are totally justifiable.
AMI was written and directed by up-and-comer Rusty Nixon and stars Debs Howard (iZombie), Sam Robert Muik (Riverdale), Phil Granger (Ghost Wars), Havana Guppy (Shut Eye) and Bonnie Hay (A Million Little Things) as the sinister “AMI.”
I’ll be curious to see how well it pulls off the transition from a caring, mother-like AI to a murderous whisper in Cassie’s ear.
Below you’ll find the trailer premiere of this psychological thriller from IndustryWorks Studios, who is also handling international sales of the film at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival!
