[Huluween Interview] Anna Zlokovic on Therapy, Practical Effects and Balancing Horror and Comedy in 'Appendage'

Appendage is a fascinating movie that combines horror and comedy to explore anxiety and pain. It’s a film with a shit-talking…well, appendage…and it’s a lot of fun.

The basic premise is that we follow Hannah (Hadley Robinson), a young fashion designer trying to get a leg up at her job. Struggling with anxiety and deep seated trauma, she’s barely holding it together. But then her pain begins to manifest into something goopy and gruesome…

As part of Huluween, I was able to briefly sit down with writer/director Anna Zlokovic to talk about using practical effects design of the creature, how she went about adapting this short film as her feature debut and more. Check it out below.
